Whether you’re seeking a career in aviation or just want to fly your own plane for business or pleasure, Moyer Aviation’s pilot training program can help you plot your course.
You’ll be trained by highly credentialed flight instructors using the most up to date Cessna computerized training program and Cessna aircraft. From takeoffs, to navigation, to landings, you’ll learn the key concepts and capabilities needed to pass written and flight examinations and receive your pilot certificate.
Get in the air your first day!
Our Discovery Flight Experience starts with 30 minutes of flight time during which you’ll actually get to fly the plane. You’ll also have 30 minutes of ground learning. Your flight instructor will also show you the next steps in your training.
What type of pilot are you?
Our instructors can train you from the most basic to the most advanced certifications.
Private Pilot
The most popular license for new civilian pilots. This certification is limited to single engine aircraft flying in Visual Flight conditions (VFR). You can carry passengers for business and pleasure.
- Minimum flying time: 35 hours.
- Medical requirement: 3rd class clearance by an FAA-approved physician.
Instrument Rating
After you receive your Private Pilot license, the next level is the Instrument Rating. This certification allows you to fly when the weather is other than VFR.
- Minimum flying time: 35 hours.
- Minimum ground school requirement: 30 hours.
Commercial Pilot
This license allows allows someone to operate an aircraft for compensation.
- Minimum flying time: 250 hours. Pilot-in-command (PIC)-100 hours, Cross-country PIC-50 hours, Instrument Training-10 hours, Technically Advanced Airplane (TAA)-10 hours.
- Medical requirement: 1st and 2nd class clearance by an FAA-approved physician.

Liberty University’s School of Aeronautics offers Professional Pilot programs through Moyer Aviation.
Flight training offered by the School of Aeronautics includes: Private certificate, Instrument rating, Commercial certificate, Multiengine and Flight instructor rating.

The James M. Johnson School of Aviation Sciences, Community College of Beaver County (CCBC), offers FAA-approved part-141 Advanced Piloting and Professional Pilot programs through Moyer Aviation.
Graduates completing the program meeting the part-141 criteria may be certified for a restricted privileges Airline Transport Pilot certificate (R-ATP certificate) which reduces the age and flight hours required to serve as a co-pilot.

$129 Discovery Flight
A Discovery Flight Experience includes an hour of ground and flight time with one of our professional Certified Flight Instructors, during which you will actually fly the plane! After your session, your Instructor will answer any questions you may have regarding flight training. Book as a gift for the aviation enthusiast or as the first step of flight training.
